ACMI Intermix Kinect Workshop

For the youth-oriented (15-25 years old) Intermix program run by the Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI), nurse Media Lab Melbourne is running a workshop on using the Kinect and the Z-Vector visualisation tool to produce audio-responsive artworks.

During the workshop participants will learn about the technical foundations of depth cameras, side effects examine a number of artistic projects that have successfully employed the Kinect and then step through a range of techniques employed in installations, dance and theatre.

We’ll then get our hands dirty with the Kinect and Z-Vector to produce short audio-responsive artworks which combine images and depth data from the Kinect.

The program is open to 15-25 year olds and runs on September 17th.
