VR Workshop at Melbourne Uni Science Festival
On 16th August 2016, Media Lab Melbourne ran two workshops as part of the Melbourne University Science Festival. The focus was on learning how to create panoramic stills for Virtual Reality headsets, using the open source software Hugin. The workshop also involved a general discussion around VR and current headsets available.
Here’s the blurb from the event.
Join Media Lab Melbourne in a workshop that looks at the process of producing a panoramic image that can be used in a Virtual Reality headset such as the Oculus Rift. Working with existing footage, participants will learn to use crossplatform Open Source software to create 360 degree panoramic stills viewable in VR. With these skills participants will be equipped to explore their own VR vistas.
